Check your ears! Pretty sure 40 is where ear hair begins to grow like that beanstalk from the story with Jack.
I don't get this one. I am 58 and have never had any ear hair and I am pretty damn hair including back and nasal hair I have to keep in check.

The 40s is a good decade. It's probably the last decade you'll feel physically and mentally as sharp as you did in your 20s.
50s and up is when you start to become aware of aging. At least that's how it was for me.
The good news is that you can still stay fit, but you'll get injured easier. You'll forget things mid-conversation. You'll most likely need reading glasses at some point and it will progressively get worse. If you do get injured, it will take longer to heal. Your skin will start showing noticeable signs of aging.
One day you'll look in the mirror as an old man and think, "I'm getting too old for this shite."

I’m mid 50s but biggest downside since turning 40 has been my eyes. Have to wear reading glasses all the time. Everything else is fine
