These classic nuggets are priceless.

Friends,

I have begun to take my acetazolamide in preparation for several 14,000 ascents in the coming days, and so, my trips to the bathroom have become more frequent. It is with trepidation that I begin this journey, as I am in rather poor shape, having been indoors more than I normally would.

Projections for tomorrow's Roy Picou sendoff at Impastato's include a high of 102 and low of 84, with an average temp of 93, which would break the city record for hottest average temp of all-time. It would also tie the city record for highest temperature ever as well as tie the second warmest low of all-time.

Hillabee, thank you.

Legion of Doom, your kind words never fail to bring joy to my heart.

TexasTiger, my job is the same as the purpose of life: to love God and enjoy him forever. My family is rich with blessings from heaven. Financially we are secure, but we do not own any planes or hundred thousand acre ranches. I am not a member of that group. Joining such a group is the same, in my book, as buying an expensive car. It is all for show. Barbie is the best movie I saw this summer in the theaters. The best movie I saw at Uncle's was The Whale. The book in question that did not arrive to my dear friend, George the Greek. He did not purchase one, but I was sending him a free copy that apparently was not delivered.

burgeman, always a pleasure to see you here.

GreenRockTiger, Grandmother was just a baby in '27. Great Grandmother spoke about it. Great Grandfather was a consultant for The Whitney and at the least a warm acquaintance with James Edgar Monroe at the time and there are many family secrets she would not share when I asked her. It is not one of the good moments in our family's history.

Fat and Happy, sosaysmorvant, and calcotron, there is no better way to understand weather than by graphing it with pen and paper. Computers can make the work quicker, but one will never be immersed in the soil of numbers without graphing them by hand.

SirWinston, I hope in the next week to have summitted Rainier, Hood and Shasta. It would be a great privilege if you would join me for at least one of the summits. Mind altering substances, however, will not be allowed.

fightin tigers, you mistake Great Grandmother for Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great Grandmother.

Obtuse1, Great Grandmother did help some people in Chalmette during the flood, but she was not, to my knowledge, rescuing people in boats.

Jim Rockford, Larry Leo is an unrepentant, disgusting sinner who must turn from the evil he is spreading every day. Lusting and encouraging others to lust after women is a dastardly sin. He should have no platform here. I despise his wickedness and pray that he will follow God's path of righteousness one day.

Dissident Aggressor, I will do my best to be there and would love to share a Fresca with you and maybe Billy if he would join us. Even if we are unable to attend, I will certainly look forward to seeing your picture the next time I visit.

TDFreak, we become so spoiled by air conditioning sometimes we think it was terrible before A/C existed. I prefer not to use A/C very much because I find it makes me soft-natured. If I keep the AC at 85, the heat outside really does not feel so bad. 1911 was a time when people walked a lot more and a time before fast food. Heat feels far less unpleasant when you carry a healthy body mass.

Basura Blanco, Esq., I am undeserving of your praise and it would be a great honor to use such a beautiful writing piece as your quadchromatic (or is it tetrachromatic?) BIC. Such a timeless piece that any museum should accept it, even if it is not put on display. It makes me think of Midnight in Paris, Allen's best work, where is his protagonist writes a book about an old curiosity shop. Perhaps such a shop would be a better home than the museums he contacted. As for the Saints suggestion, I really am not a big enough sports fan to be an authority on such a list, so I must decline the invitation. 1983 was before my time. I vaguely remember a Saints-Vikings playoff game that was very disappointing and the Saints Rams NFC Championship Game. Perhaps you would share your top ten?

Mr. Misanthrope, your praise above all else here is to be treasured. More families would find contentment and joy in this world if the elders shared with the children the family's story. All are edified in such an exchange of memory and information. Too many today are unwilling to tell stories, or worse, unwilling to listen. It is likely due to alcohol rotting the minds of many elders and other drugs distracting the minds of today's children.

I-59, I am undeserving of such lofty words.

Tall Tiger, I am not a climatologist so I do not know if that volcano had any impact on this summer's warmth. One would expect if it were, there would be a more even distribution of record heat across the world. And what of the past few summers being hotter and hotter? I simply do not know. I suspect, at least in part, the vanishing wetlands and increasing concrete in the Metro play large roles, especially in the warming overnight lows.

lsudave1, the level of comfort many people require today is testament to just how entitled people have become. They do not think they should know pain or even discomfort. Such feelings in part drove the opioid crisis.

HotBoudin, certainly the humidity plays a large factor in New Orleans being one of the most uncomfortable weather locales in America. I also think of Houston and San Antonio as others.

We shall see what the thermometer ends up showing tomorrow. It could be an historic day for us temperature wise. Please keep us informed here.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

I appreciate your response, TulaneLSU. I asked whether you have considered publishing your work because I think it could be a good way to make a taxable income.

I also think you might want to consider becoming a theologian or even a member of clergy. You have knowledge of matters that are highly esoteric in nature that should be shared with those with ears to hear them.

May God bless you and your Family.

Friends,

Be aware that yesterday, MSY set an all-time high of 104, smashing the 1980 record of 102. With a low of 78, it missed the all-time average record of 92.5, with a daily average of 91. Today, however, we could tie the 104 record and smash the daily average record, as lows are predicted at just at 82, which would give us a 93 degree average.

I flew to Seattle yesterday in order to try one of the last remaining Shakey's Pizza locations, thanks to our friend, Degas. I am considering making the return flight today as I do not want to miss this potentially historic day.

Yours,
TulaneLSU
