about midnight the electricity went off at the hotel and still not back on.
Went to Walmart and they were closed because of no power, Harps across the street was closed too. Thank goodness for dollar general, my wife wanted French onion dip and if I came back empty handed it was gonna be pretty bad for me.

I'm normally chill with bad weather my post intended to be humorous with a bit of truth.
Got hit by Ida (we hid in a closet for hours) and just finished extensive repairs not too long ago. No doubt I'm more concerned about severe weather now days than in the past.
Get hit by one that severely damages your home, and your perspective might change as well. I feel sorry for those who have lost homes or far worse, loved ones to storms.
Just before Ida hit, a co-worker of mine summed it up as thus:
"It's all fun and games until you actually own shite."

Looks like the wind threat caused by the entrainment of dry air (bingo) at the mid levels into the squall line as it moved out of SW Louisiana and Texas came to fruition.
Long stretch of wind reports from Lafayette to Pensacola with one tornado mixed in near Bayou Cane.

The HRRR nailed that one cell it kept showing a strong UDH swath for south of Houston. That's the main tor report producer.
