I'm not sure if it is fixable man.
It isn't.
The problem isn't political, the problem is that the vast majority of people have no moral compass, no work ethic, no respect, and take no personal responsibility.
And the average American has more information at the tip of their fingers than any previous generation in history yet they are some the most illogical, dumbest people ever.
Critical thinking is dead.

Who did you vote for in 2020?
I left the ballot blank. I didn't want biden or Trump, and living on LA I knew Trump would win the electoral anyway so I didn't feel like my vote would matter.
Do you think a vote in one election makes you a lifer of that party?

This is a state brought and prosecuted by the State of New York, dude. Feds, white house, scotus, none of them have anything to do with this.

My primary function on this board these days is to correct lies/mistruths and try to redirect people back to reality, while refusing to be a hypocrite and maintaining my values (so we can add honor into the mix).
Is not the same as

Mr I'm Just here to correct misinterpretations of the law
So thank you for proving your straw man directly.

Did your gloat thread getting whacked cause you to hide out here more?
Apparently the whole poli board is getting the Q treatment, so I'm waiting to hear from management on the new rules they just implemented

Sorry, but this is a return to the pathetic legal illegitimacy of Mississippi 70yrs ago.
This sort of trial/prosecution happens daily, likely hundreds, if not thousands of times across the US.

Naw
Liberal to libertarian (in 2005 and have remained the same).

Yes. People just excuse it away because those defendants are in their perceived out group, and they shut it out by assuming they are guilty already.
Just like what Trump just faced. The difference is Trump is in the perceived in-group, so THIS time it's an outrage!

"Melt" threads are almost a daily occurrence on the poli talk board.
Posted on 5/30/24 at 6:12 pm to ReauxlTide222
The poli board isn't bipartisan. Never has been. If you aren't on the right you'll get threads whacked and banned.

No doubt, I was saying the problem with this country isn't political.
Case in point.

No, I just don’t see it as any different than what occurred that entire summer. Yet I didn’t see anyone prosecuted/persecuted over the GF riots
You didn’t see because you never looked. You’re more interested in talking points than facts.
quote:
The AP found that more than 120 defendants across the United States have pleaded guilty or were convicted at trial of federal crimes including rioting, arson and conspiracy. More than 70 defendants who’ve been sentenced so far have gotten an average of about 27 months behind bars. At least 10 received prison terms of five years or more.
