I can't imagine ever 100% getting over my first real love. In the end, we fought too much, but I'm not sure I've ever met someone who understood me so well. Any girl I date will always be lacking in certain spots compared to her.

May end up regretting the one I just split with but it was getting down to ring time and I just wasn't feeling it. If it isn't there after two year at my age then not sure it ever will.

False. Circumstances are different for everyone, however.

On another note, you don't have a line on a LWD/MWD opening anywhere by chance huh?

I do know of some areas that are opening up. West Africa is doing well. The problem is the market is flooded with very experienced people out of jobs. If memory serves me correct you are looking to get started in the industry?

I only cared for one girl and that was well over 40 years ago. I got over her decades ago, but I think I still remember some of the experiences and feelings. Long, long, long time ago.

Possible. For myself it was a matter of distance. Accepted to different colleges far away and made it work for as long as possible. It wasn't a bitter parting and she is still a great person.

False for me. Those were some great times, but I was over it when we separated.

How many on here still stay harbor feelings for their first real boyfriend or girlfriend and/or maintain contact with them?

I think men are much better at letting those feelings go. Women? Not so much.

I'd be interested to see the differences in male and female responses..... I think if they were being COMPLETELY honest, females would say true way more often.

And I'd say even more so they'd still harbor feelings for the first person they slept with- regardless of if they truly loved them or not.

Its true, I'll never forget that little yamaha pw50..

Cousin ran into a tree and bent the tire back into the engine. Dad rebuilt it but I soon had nowhere to ride it and it sat for years.

Now my little brother has a pw80 but it's just not the same... I look like sasquatch on a minibike nowadays..

True

And I never want to completely get over it. It was an incredible time in my life with my first real understanding of what love is. We were perfect for each other right up until we weren't anymore in her eyes. She shattered my heart into a million pieces out of the clear blue and every girl I met up until I dated my wife paid for her sins. We cross paths occasionally and she is as beautiful as she was 24 years ago. But time heals all. When I see her I don't feel the pain of the breakup but I do remember fondly everything else. I get nostalgic but not in a leave my wife and run off with my first love kinda way. My wife knows there is a part of me that will always still be in love with my first love and she fricks with me about it. She knows I ain't going anywhere. Silver lining I guess is that I am told at least once or twice a year by old friends that my first love turned into quite the BITCH and apparently is obnoxious at her kids games
