He asked because he wanted to know where the driver was coming from... Duhhh.

How many people do you know that have come back from lunch or coming into work in the morning that have been pulled over for an illegal lane change or no blinker? None. The dickheads do this at night cause they betting on a DWI.

Says the guy who joined TigerDroppings.com just in time to see his favorite college football team get its arse kicked all over the field (SEVEN touchdown passes in the FIRST HALF!!) by LSU's Joe Burrow, et al, in the Peach Bowl playoff game in Atlanta.

But I can't help but wonder why the driver didn't just answer the cop's questions and be on his way?

You DO know that this isn’t pleasant banter don’t you? These are questions asked for you to incriminate yourself. And this incrimination is subjective to the cop.

You want a cop to gather an excuse to hold you and search your car while you just wanna be on your way? Then you “just answer the cop’s questions”.

Frick that. I’m not having someone that is in a job you are qualified in having with a GED try to twist the law to search my stuff. No sir.

Trooper Jackson seems like a jackass.

I said this on a couple threads, but it amazes me when said dickhead asks if you have weapons or drugs and says “let’s be honest…you help me I’ll help you”. Yeah ok officer, I am going to do your job for you and give you verbal consent. Nope. You’ll cut me zero breaks for me pointing out where something is

Man, watch a few body cam videos. You will be amazed at how many idiots self snitch. And that is why the cop is asking. And a few minutes later a-hole Jackson will ask the same question again. Just to see how the guy answers.

Best answer is silence or the bare minimum.

"Where are you coming from?"

Why is "where are you coming from?" relevant to writing a traffic ticket? It's something that a-hole cops do to fish for a reason to escalate the situation.

Look, I agree the cop escalated the tension unnecessarily but he didn't seem to have an attitude until the driver wasn't cooperative.

There has to be a severing of “not cooperative” from a lot of people’s lexicon in these situations.

You have the absolute RIGHT to not say a word. It’s not “uncooperative”.. it’s your RIGHT to do so. If you wanna spill your entire day’s schedule to the guy.. you go right ahead.

This is an example in Kentucky. In the state to the immediate south you had troopers make multiple DUI arrests for people that were sober.

What you “just be cooperative” people don’t realize is that every cop has tunnel vision and you are doing something you shouldn’t be doing.. and they are a few arrests behind their buddy who is challenging him for officer of the month. If your sketchy arse has to sit in jail for a night for him to get a plaque.. well so be it.

You did hear on the video where he wrote in the report he suspected he had consumed alcohol didn’t you? With zero indications or proof. Just wrote it in there to cover his arse. Don’t matter if it could get someone fired from their job or anything. Now what if the guy would have told him he was coming from the direction a bar was located in?
