I fell in love with my wife when we were both unemployed. We lived out of our bank accounts for five years. Travelled around the world, and she's my soul mate.

We were never after each other's assets.

I'd rather live in a bumfrick trailer with her than in an island bill with Selma Hayek.

And still to this day I don’t like their meddling in my first marriage. It didn’t change my mind one bit, but it did affect my relationship with them for a loooong time.

At this point, if you cannot recognize AND appreciate what they were doing out of love for you, you haven't grown up much.

Sorry for the truth bomb, but they were right and were trying to help you.

Not really much to say. She is from California. Her parents are kooky and are not paying for the wedding. She has some mental issues, I think, but hey, so do many people. Both of them are just too damn immature to be responsible for another human being.

Oh, and did I mention the wedding is in Tuscaloosa?

Did he meet her at the strip club?

I read earlier that strippers aren't good for long term relationships.

Do you think you raised your kid right?

If you do, then trust him he is doing the right thing.

If not, don't start trying to fix it now.

One of two things will happen...

1) They will live happily ever after
2) The marriage sucks and they divorce. Lots of Catholics get divorced.

Neither is the death sentence you’re making it out to be. The best advice is to not frick up your relationship with your son. Let him live his life

Seriously, I got married at 21. Lasted a year and realized my dad was right. He’ll wish he listened to you one day.

I began the annulment process. Once I saw all the personal info they wanted, I said “frick this shite.” I’m now an atheist.

Quite possibly the most absurd part of the Catholic faith IMO. Went through it myself. Pay some money, fill out some forms, get witness statements, then let a 3 member tribunal decide if your marriage was legitimate in the eyes of the God.

The US has ~60% of Catholic annulments despite having only 6% of worldwide Catholics. It's an embarrassment.

Divorce with kids is not even close to the same thing as divorce without kids.

Divorce without kids won’t break the bank, my friend

How has she supported herself to 23 without a job?

NOT much to say? But you decided an attention seeking thread was in order?

1. Who's in laws aren't crazy?
2. Everyone is mental in one way or another.
3. Tuscaloosa? Har Har Har, dem hicks there, amirite? /sarcasm

Jesus I hope your son has more balls than you.
