Depends on the state first of all, in some states a mutual afray means you can’t claim self defense

Yes, but considering I practice zero civil litigation, not for any of the reasons you would likely assume based on the silly “trial lawyer” nomenclature that has become so popular as of late

I don't think so. I think he got involved because he is/was a client of the homeless, drug-addicted prostitute. He probably considers her quite the catch and is stalking her, knighting, looking for the long term commitment.

If this was not true, he would have posted 4 pics of her by now.

In Louisiana, of initial importance is that the envelope with your donation to the presiding judge's campaign was delivered on time with a check for the proper amount. It is downhill from there.

Look at La. R.S. 14:19.
Nope -- look at R.S. 14:20 (use of deadly force - justifiable homicide).

No, the level of self defense must be proportionate to the attack. You can't stab someone who is using their hands against you. If he had shot the guy would you be asking the question?

That’s not necessarily accurate. It’s more nuanced than that.

I am. I'm missing how this is relevant

ETA: Ah, didn't realize which post you were replying to. Not a fan of JBE, but I like him as the lesser of two evils. Neither jackass is going to respect my fiscal liberty, so I might as well go with the one that at least might respect my civil liberties.
