My BMI is technically 31. I’m 6’0 228, therefore classifying me as obese

I got my body fat % taken a few weeks ago and I was at 18.5%

BMI for classifying obeseity is shite

Damn, I hope we are not that shallow, but that is an astute observation.

And this is a major contributing factor to the rising cost of medical care.

There really should be a photoshopped Bat Signal that says “Mingo” on it.

Your eyes have become too fat accepting. Everyone who isn't fat now looks too skinny when in reality they are normal.

This is absolutely right. I'm not pro-fat-shaming, but I am very much anti-fat-acceptance.

I'm 6' 170 at 44, and have weighed as much as 220 (late-20s/early 30s at times) without looking "fat," but people think I'm "thin" now. Fortunately I have good tone so I look healthy, but most people definitely think I'm abnormal, which I am unfortunately.

I am 6’1 228 lbs - right at a BMI of 30

I bench 315, squat 360 and deadlift 425. Percentage body fat is about 16%. These are not great powerlifting numbers by any stretch and sure, I would like to get down to around 10-12%.

My issue with BMI is that it classifies people who lift incorrectly. To my life/disability insurer I am borderline obese and higher risk than some couch potato than some couch potato that checks in at 6’’1 210 and looks like a tubby piece of shite. They just use it because it is easy and does not take any work to calculate. And for that I get to pay more.

Rant done. Bring on the downvotes

These OT posters have similar body types to NFL running back Todd Gurley.

BMI

Sucks. The only thing it should be used for is directional trends of large populations.
