Travel, the downside

I go places, but really loathe the airport and moving parts. I enjoy the trips after I get there, but the pat downs are annoying. I try to get direct flights when possible.
Are there other tips to make it easier?
Do I just lower my expectations to zero so that I'm never disappointed?
Quit traveling near holidays?
I hate driving. I don't particular like air travel. I do enjoy trains, but there are very limited rail options in the south.

Going to the airport is fun.

TSA pre check
Global entry
Create a travel routine... I take between 150-200 flights a year and it is all about rhythm. If you can get status on an airline it helps as well.

Tsa precheck helps a lot. Even if its precheck lite, you only have to take out your laptop and still go through just the metal detector. Also booking nonstop flights vs connections will help save your misery by a few hours. Merry christmas

If you say you have a bomb, you jump to the front of the line.

I try to maintain a steady buzz while flying. Also Xanax works wonders.

Yeah screw that. Glad I have a job that doesn't require that much travel.
