There are 30 major league teams with a 40 man roster. That is 1200 roster spots.
Kids that are drafted right out of HS.. I want to say they have about a 25% chance of making it to the big leagues.
There are 299 D1 college teams. The most realistic goal is for your kid to get a baseball scholarship.
I bet kids who only play rec and/or HS ball and get a scholarship are hated by travel ball dads.

2 today the top of the first lasted for 50 mins and only ended when the batter swung the bat back and hit up, after hitting the ball, and the called him out. Game was indeed called in the 3rd cause it was 21-1

Sounds like a bunch of shitty Wreck Teams trying to play tournament ball.
Travel/Tournament ball has really gotten watered down with kids that don’t pick up a baseball until they’re 9 and dads that have never played catch with their kids.

A lot of the best players on the 11-13 year old teams are rec players that just started that have not been coached or drilled to death. They just see the ball and hit it, and throw strikes.

I agree. We played from 7- Cooperstown when he was 12. Then joined a summer team and started playing Shoball.
Any kid thats still playing “travel ball” at 13 probably started late and hasn’t played much baseball. Those kids don’t play school ball.
