Why live in Orleans when Jefferson Parish right next door has two-day garbage pickup, a functioning police force, streets that aren't full of crater-like potholes, and utility costs that are half of what you pay in Orleans?

Actually great. Lol I'm in kenner. Twice weekly with recycling and bulky waste for $15 a month.

Yep. All of the "once a week is fine" and I will gladly pay more for less services. Who needs twice a week? are people that will justify anything in the name of their leaders and will never find fault in anything they do.

Everyone knows twice a week is much much better.

Yet we haven't had automated pick up in Jefferson,
you talking about the robot arm trucks? We have those in Metairie, they still have to move the cans to the right spot though

After reading this thread I realize how few complaints I actually have in comparison to others in the area.

The whole recycling thing is a joke. They take the trucks to the landfill, nothing is seperated, just dumped with the regular trash.

Shhh…the white guilt liberals are all to happy to pay any increase for reduced services provided NOLA let’s them “feel good” by having the appearance of recycling.

We only get trash picked up once a week here and yet our city is clean and doesn’t smell like urinated puke.

Do you live on a street where people party and puke and restaurants have to put their trash on the curb?

No. Our restaurants let their garbage pile up in the dining area until they run out of seating

Having non gonna regulated trash service is great. It’s once a week here and I pay like $35 a month, if they have to miss the day they make up for it the next day. If I don’t like price or service I can switch to another provider

Think New Orleans is something like $25. Sure that is probably going up some.

When I had independent I liked it. No issues with the service. Kind of like now.

Only issue I ever had with rural service like that is my neighbor stopped paying for his and decided to collect all his trash in the garage and backyard. Easy to say that wouldn't have happened with municipal type service, but it is anecdotal anyway.

How much trash are you generating? Only time I ever have issues is with yard debris, and that is a call to 311.

Or one of the neighbors has extra space they let me use.

Definitely could easily get by with once a week but having it twice is nice if we have a crawfish or shrimp boil or a big shindig.

They sure do, and I respect their right to do so. But they knew exactly what they were getting into when the moved there as well.

It’s like someone in buying property in Arizona bitching about the sand.
