transmission fluid change vs. flush on CVT

Someone explain which would be the better route to go and where there might be a place in BR to get the service outside of the dealership. So far I've tried Firestone and NTB but neither perform any services regarding transmissions according to them, even though the websites all have transmission service as an option.

Posted with car info. I assumed that I could get a response based on the fact that I'm asking whether or not a CVT should be flushed vs. changed.

Sorry I can’t help but I do know there’s all kinds of conflicting information out there about Mazda CVT’s.

Agco automotive, may take a few days to get In But they have always been honest with me. Price is good for what you get. Some will say they are high priced, but I trust them so I don’t mind spending extra. I have always been told that a flush is just that, flush your money down the drain

Mileage? Ever had a service done on the tranny before? If high mileage and never done a service, don't touch it. It's going to fail sooner rather than later and you might as well ride it out.
And don't let some chain like FIrestone or NTB do a tranny service. That's just asking for trouble.

How many miles? If you have high mileage and haven't done one it may not be a good idea to do it. When I worked at a mechanic shop during college if a car never had it changed and was over 95k miles we wouldn't do them.

I believe that to be a myth

This is the correct answer when dealing with a CVT.

Sell it while it's still worth something and get a non-CVT.

This...I have a 2016 Nissan Sentra and it's a piece of shite.

A flush is more thorough than a change and more expensive. All depends on how much longer you plan on keeping it. A flush will require a visit to the dealer or a shop with the equipment. You can do a change in your driveway.

not really a myth. The new oil is very thin and has a lot of detergents in it that can eat away build up and leak where as the older oil has become much thicker and less harsh on the metals. Mechanic shops wouldn't just turn down money if it didn't cause issues.

not trying to start an argument but I've heard this all of my life and I've never had that experience or ever heard of anyone that I know ever have that experience

Negative on a flush. Pull the pan, change the filter, top it back off or leave it alone.

He may not answer today since he's adding on to his shop, but he's my go to mechanic.

It's a Nissan Jatco CVT. It's not a myth.
As for a regular transmission.....there's certainly some debate here. Personally, mine always get serviced regularly, so I don't have to test it out. That said, what's more likely is that cars over 100k miles are already having issues once a person decides to get a service done, hoping the service will fix it. It doesn't (it's not magic), the transmission ultimately fails, and they then blame the shop that did the service. This is why shops won't touch them over 100k if you can't prove you've done services previously.
