no. Only documented the speeding violation then stopped filming as its illegal to drive and use cell phone sans a few exceptions

And is speeding up close to 90 mph to gauge the speed of another driver and then filming that other driver one of those exceptions?

The ONLY citation was following too close.

Great.

Now let me ask you this. Had you minded your own fricking business would any of this have happened?

I bet the answer is no.

They’re talking about the vehicle you’re passing, not the other guy ahead of you in the left lane.

It means you can pull up closer to a vehicle in the right lane before moving into the left lane to pass someone.

I didn't receive a ticket for videoing a trooper. Try to keep up. Following too close was the ticket.

Well, seeing the poor judgment you used filming another driver while you yourself were driving at a high rate of speed, I’m not sure your judgment of what is too close can be trusted here.

Cops violating the law is my business as it is every citizen. They work for us in case you didn't know.

You sound pretty dumb. You have admitted on here that 1. You video taped a cop going over the speed limit, which is in violation of using a hand held cell phone law, 2. You admitted to following 2-3 car lengths doing around 70-75mph, which clearly is tailgating or following too close.

I would say you got off easy already. Did the cop see you filming him?

You sound like those dumb people that try to bait cops into violating their constitutional rights by not showing their Id's at border crossings. Only to find out, that driving is a privilege, not a right.

By the way, it's usually not a requirement for police to have lights and sirens on when actively on a call. He could have been trying to catch up to someone speeding, at the point he caught up to that vehicle, he would have turned on the lights and music.

So don't hold law enforcement accountable? Weird stance but ok.

Wasn’t there a thread about a month ago complaining about cops doing the speed limit making traffic stack up behind him?

Why didn’t you have the balls to pull out your TMZ video when the cop pulled you over? Keyboard warrior. Thanks for the amusement

Ah, you did follow too closely.

Going how fast?

This is the question. Everything I see online keeps referencing a car length for every 10 mph. The OP was going on a road that a cop could get up to 90 mph and were passing others. He was way too close if he’s 2 or 3 car lengths as he claims unless they were passing on a highway at 30 mph.

As with most of these cases I'm sure the OP isn't giving the full story either.

I would use my dash cam to prove I wasn’t too close.

Again, that’s not what the exception means. The exception means you can get closer to a vehicle before going around them. It does not mean that you get to ignore it as long as there are cars moving slower to your right. By your definition it’s not possible to follow anyone too closely while you’re passing someone else.

Again, 2-3 car lengths is objectively too close at 70-75 mph. People do it all the time but doing it to a cop is pretty dumb.

That’s pretty clearly talking about the car you passing and the distance between you and it. It’s not talking about the distance between another car also passing and your own car.

I requested the trooper front dash, rear dash and body cam footage as evidence and it has been court ordered by a judge to release it to me.
