I think the new f-150 looks better inside and out, but I just don't trust Fords for long term reliability.

Go with the Tundra and don't look back.

Tundra if you are using it every day for work. I have a buddy that does the same with his truck and it way outlasted mine. Pulling trailers, rough terrain, sitting idling for long periods, etc.
I use my 2010 F150 4x4 Larait every day for work and have destroyed it. I bought it in 2014 with 56k miles on it. Rear axle leaks, tranny is going out from hauling shite, leather seats and center console are cracking, check fuel fill inlet light is on, check engine light is on(can't figure out why). I love my ford but goddamn I'm disappointed at all the bullshite I've dealt with. I'm about to buy a new F150 but I'll be damn if I use it for a work truck.
I'm thinking about going with the dodge eco diesel 4x4.

This F-150 V6 says hi

Never met someone in person who drives/drove an ecoboost and didn't have problems with it - aside from people on this site who seem to state it every time this thread comes up.

I will never trust them, to each their own though.

I would go Toyota simply because I don't like that turbo gas engine. Drive a Ram and GM, too. The HEMI in that Ram is hard to beat.

I just rented an Expedition with the 3.5 EB, and it was as expected. You can tell it is a V6 until the turbo kicks in. Nothing like a V8.

If you like long term reliability (especially electronics, components, finish) and resale value, buy the Tundra.

If you like price, looks and will get a new one every couple years, buy the Ford

Both are built by American workers. Who give a shite which rich guys own the joint?

Both publically traded. You probably already own shares in both, along with FCA, GM and several major suppliers.

I'd go with the Tundra if the OP keeps their truck more than 5-6 years.

If you want to feel power when you drive along with lots of space then choose the Tundra. If you want a piece of crap choose the Ford.

The only gas V8 I've ever driven that didn't need to rev to make meaningful power is the 8.1L 496 big block GM truck engine, and that's only because there's so much rotating metal inside the engine that it makes probably 300 lb-ft at 100 rpm off idle.

The EcoBoost makes ALL of its torque at 2000-2500 rpm which is both ideal for towing and is where 95% of people keep the engine's revs in normal driving. It works just as it's designed to.

And on the subject of Expeditions, the EcoBoost V6 is literally decades better than the Triton 5.4 V8 that those things had for the entire time they existed prior to 2015.

Tundra if you plan on racking up 150k+ miles

Ford if your gonna trade it in before 100k. Only drawback to the twin turbo ecoboost is longevity
