I think if you run a business that is a public accommodation covered by civil rights laws you should abide by the law. I really don't know if towing is covered by those laws. If it is, the guy could have let himself in for a large bother.

So all the times you speed past people on the side of the hwy with their emergency lights on and pulled over... you're saying I should stop because or be held personally responsible for the actions of someone else?

i don't know the man's personal habits, but he did see something she was affiliated with that he didn't like and stood up for what he believed in.

it's easy for people to run their mouth about things until it cost them something.

I'm a 100% Bernie suporter. If someone wearing a Trump shirt comes and asks to give me their business, I give it to them. I've got no problem with different viewpoints, as long as it doesn't mess up my life.

I wouldn't pass up making a few dollars either over political beliefs, but I have no problem with this guy doing so. His business, his choice.

Not sure what you are saying here.

But, this is what he does. The woman had a reasonable expectation that the tow truck she called and was waiting for, while she was not calling another tow truck, would actually tow her when he got there. Now she has to call another tow truck and hope that she does not remain stranded once he gets there as well, because she exercised her free speech.

Not sure what I think should happen to this guy. I get that his freedom is important also. But he did put himself in a position to have someone depending on him. When he took the call he at the very least implied that he would tow her. Although my politics would likely align with his, he is not anyone I would want to support in business. He is a very sad human being.

He may have been concerned about the towing capacity of his truck.

Meh.

It would be hilarious though if the dude needed an ambulance, the ambulance pulls up and he finds out he has the wrong bumper stickers for a lift to the hospital.

Well, that's his right as a business owner.

It might be his right, but customers or customers. As a business owner, you start a business to provide a certain service or offer some type of goods. Unless by not doing something will help business, then its just plain dumb not to do it. Never turn down business unless its in the best interest of your business to turn it down.

I think it's dumb to let political differences predicate your choices in this way, and that even applies to intimate relationships. If your politics are actually that important to you, you're a dullard.

So if she got murdered, it's somehow his fault?
I wouldn't like his chances in a civil suit.

Its like someone not wanting to be involved with someone because they pull for another team.
