Do them Russian and Chinese baws have similar tech?
The comparable Russian system is the Kornet, there are some small pros and cons between each system.
But more importantly they are both great at killing T-72s, but the Abrams is tougher for both those systems.

I did in (I think) 1986...87?
Sounds like that would have been about the time I went. Would have been between 84 & 88 and I'm pretty sure it was towards the end of my service that I went.

Roadrunners? Those guys lived in the woods and would visit civilization every once in a while. They were deployed more than the Navy guys.

Awesome weapon but, it just doesn’t sound as bad arse as an A10 Warthog 30mm Gatling gun.

Wow! Same time I was in, 84-88.........so you were a TOW company at Polk? Right next door in the motor pool I think. 1/40th tanks were next door. Yes that P-1 P-2 training was a bitch! Glad to meet you my brother. Did you ever drink at the PussyCat?

The comments from Russians in the comments section is pretty amusing. They basically think that the tank was packed with TNT for effect.

Well, understandable, in the case of the T 72, they are correct.

This thread is great - I don't know a lot about what happened in the video, but isn't it likely that the tanks ammo would detonate after the TOW exploded - creating much the same effect?
