Those of us who are older will remember Rotten.com - they used to post stories (and photos) of stuff like this. One that stuck with me was exactly like this - a guy was running from police and jumped off a roof, trying to clear the same type of wrought iron fence. His body cleared the fence, all except the back / base of his skull...the tip of the fence impaled him and he was hung on the fence like he was placed there. Yeah, there were photos.

Saw a video of a guy that fell off a building or something and land butt first on a bollard going right up his rectum. He was impaled up to his heart and he was still alive while sitting there held up by the bollard. When he got to the er and they attempted to remove it is when he died.
