we just got a radar at ulm to hopefully help correct that but they fricked up with it pretty bad imo. they picked probably the worst location in terms of having to deal with stupid shite.

This was the first Alexandria tornado when it was near Woodworth.

ETA: Pretty spectacular hail core signified by the teal/greenish hue to the right of the tornado.

Probabilities not as high as the PDS watch but still on the high side

Would be nice. Another one in Gross Tete or Rosedale would be ideal for the Baton Rouge area too.

Hell, Natchez or BR would be ideal at the moment.

I've had 3 rounds of large hail and winds, so far today.
About 40 minutes ago, heard the tornado roar coming from the east side of river, from a looong ways. So far, none have been attached. So far....

Radar coverage at =4,000 feet (green) and at =6,000 feet (yellow)

Only have high level radar in the gaps...which leaves a shite load of people vulnerable during tornado season and hurricane season. Tonight they are going to warn everything that could possibly spur a tornado in that gap because they can't really see the low level tornado signatures with any real accuracy.

We need 2 more radar sites in this region:
1. West Baton Rouge
2. Natchez, MS area to cover the massive gap between Monroe and Baton Rouge

Look how low the wall cloud is here:

then look at this pic:

This is probably why damage, so far, hasn't looked as bad as would be expected. A lot of the tornado pics from today probably aren't actually that big on the ground and are just real low mesos with smaller tornadoes beneath obscured by the trees/distance.
