I say they’re a waste of money.
I mean, we already have them, so use them. We just have to figure out a way to get people out of the "I never even heard a siren" trap. It should under no circumstances be your only source of warning at any time.

And after hours and hours, the long track tornado producing storm is no longer warned.

Meanwhile, our main line appears to be nudging into Shreveport with 60+ mph winds.

how is this storm not dying out?
Posted on 12/11/21 at 12:35 am to Bobby OG Johnson
Yep. That's a strong RIJ with a big rear inflow notch. Along with the tornado, it is just dumping rain on top of Pembroke.

I just moved up here to west Kentucky. Tornado came right by us. Pretty crazy how much faster they get up on you compared to hurricanes like we are used to dealing with.

Russellville, Kentucky is Kige Ramsey country. Under the gun now. Wonder if we can get a YouTube Weather livestream.

I'm happy to see it come through Memphis as a line. Now, we just need it to finish lining out. Then, let everyone get there dose, but hopefully without any major tornadoes or outrageous winds.

Looks like it is trying to. There's a little bit of a CC drop, too. Structure doesn't look that great at the moment, though.
You can definitely see it trying to wrap back up on the next scan.

I see you're facebook friends with Kige too. If I ever pass through Russellville, I'm stopping by Roy's and telling them Kige sent me.

Memphis itself seems to be somewhat protecting.
The river and the bluffs seem to push tornados north and south of Memphis.
I don’t know that to be a fact. But it seems that way.
