Just went through a tornado in Laplace approx 30 mins ago. Was heading down 10 towards Laplace when we started see'ing the wind and as we approached all of a sudden we have debris and pieces of metal hitting the truck. As we were then coming to a stop, a service truck from ARRCO flies over the median and is flipped over on 10 westbound. One of my guys ran out to the truck to check on the driver but he ran out towards the woods and thankfullly seemed to be ok. Its crazy that the truck was literally maybe 40-50ft in front of us if that.

The tornado came through right by the water tower and made a path across the interstate. I just hope no one was hurt.

Hopefully nobody was hurt. If only you had a dash cam to record that!

I thought about getting pictures for a split second and once my coworker jumped back in the truck, we were getting the hell out of there.

Its one thing to see a tornado from really far away and its a completely different animal when you see it developing, then have shite hitting your vehicle, and then see a truck only a few car lengths in front of you fly across the interstate.

I just talked to my uncle and said that he just came through Laplace and that it was bad. He was driving I55 North and have to get off high rise because winds were so bad. He waited it out under overpass at Ruddock

The crazy part is how accurate weather alerts are. As we were coming down 10 and were right between the laplace exit and weigh station, our phones started going crazy with tornado and weather alerts. Thats when we were noticing what we thought at the time was really fast moving clouds and rain being pushed by the wind. Needless to say we quickly figured out what it was once fence debris and metal posts were hitting the truck left and right.
