I can only be right for so long. I do think it's going to be a long, loud and wet night

The weather that just hit BR is definitely moving towards Nola area. After these next 3-5 inbound flights from houston/laguardia/miami land, I don't think anything is landing or taking off at MSY for the next hour or two. Even the flight that took off from MSY-DFW an hr ago went into the gulf, currently going all the way over to San Antonio before heading up to Dallas. Sorry Rome...

There are commercial flights in and out of Lakefront?

I looked at it on flightaware.com and the 2 flights going from MSY to DEN (Denver) also are taking the extreme southern route.

If you're currently in the air, I would keep coming this way if you're landing at 10pm. It's going to be bad in roughly 10ish minutes (8:30pm) until about 10pm, then there should be a break before the next line of tstorms that's currently around opelousas

Oh there's been some fun routings today to watch. An earlier DFW-Baton Rouge went all the way up past little rock then back down, these dallas flights have been going wayy west of where they usually fly

ETA: Taking a break to drive home, will keep an eye on flights upon arrival

From this first round, nah. The second round overnight, maybe. Quite the lightning show outside though

The next line coming through is starting to get a good southward push.
BR should be in the clear by 10pm

It is cool to see the horizontal rain when the sky lights up. I could do without the wind tho
