If she’s still good at her job that’s the easy part….

….but there may be a tendency for her get Peter Principled via Affirmative Action (get promoted one step higher than her own competence level), and that will be a nightmare of stress for the supporting partner. When she’s working that hard AND manages to suck at it, she will without a doubt take that shiite out on you.

This has got to be a troll thread, but I'll bite anyway. If these are really things you're upset about, you're the issue.

1. Always working - My guess is she loves what she does and was doing it or well on her way to doing it before you ever came into the picture, and it's part of who she is. And, who she is, is probably what attracted you to her in the first place. You're the one that's new to this equation.

2. Spanish - get the frick over it. This is 100% a YOU issue and, as another poster pointed out, just reeks of insecurities. This is what made me think you're trolling more than anything else.

3. Out of town - be thankful she's not leaving every Sunday night and coming back Friday evening, or worse. I know LOTS of married people whose schedules are significantly worse than what you described.


You sound like you're 23 and this is your 2nd or 3rd girlfriend ever. It reeks of insecurity and quite honestly of a person who simply needs to grow up. Which is fine. People need to grow up and mature on their own time. But, it sounds like only one of you needs to change something, and it doesn't appear you're in the headspace to do that before she realizes this thing has run its course.

Her job is, and always will be more important than you. Just a sad reality in our woman-empowered universe we currently have devolved into.

The problem is that women never grasp that in their eagerness to get the job done, they spend excessive time and energy to prove themselves equal to or better than a man. This isn't required on any job, but most certainly will never be discouraged.
