I'm not saying there aren't some similar pejoratives for American Indians, but "squaw"???
Exactly.
I get Redskin. But Squaw? I have never heard that used in a negative context in my life.
ETA:
After reading about it, it appears to be the root of an Algonquin word for woman.

Yikes. I know the point he’s trying to make, but that’s one of those where he’s gotten in way too deep and that’s not gonna go over as he planned.

yeah try using that instead of "the N word" and see how long you can still post here.
Your issue is with Chicken's policy, not my logic. I'd use it the same as I'd use any other word that is not in the filter if it was the correct word to use. But obviously, 5 seconds spent over over on the PoliBoard and it's obvious why chicken can't unfilter that word, because you could be damned sure it would be being used in it's native way.
Case in point...CK's joke literally got played out on CNN. Guy is explaining what someone else said as a derogatory term and this white women loses her shite. Makes zero sense.
LINK
When you use the term "The N Word" you're just making someone think the real word in their head. It's childlike behavior to think that escapes the use of a word in any way.

Oh...I have. My old roommate used to call a waitress we worked with "The Squaw". I called her Witch Hazel after the Looney Tunes witch because that's what I thought she looked like.
She was white, and both terms were used in a derogatory manner.

Interesting.
I grew up white AF in the South and have heard racist stuff my entire life and I can't ever recall hearing that using negatively.
If you had asked me before this story, I would have no idea it was defamatory. However, now I think of it as defamatory and the word is ruined.

Negroid is the root of the N-word.

This clown has lost it. He needs to let it go but his ego will not let him

It seems to have happened to Cher, as well.
I still don't think I'd put it on anything close to the same level.
quote:
Half-Breed
Cher
My father married a pure Cherokee
My mother's people were ashamed of me
The Indians said I was white by law
The White Man always called me "Indian Squaw"
Half-breed, that's all I ever heard
Half-breed, how I learned to hate the word
Half-breed, she's no good they warned
Both sides were against me since the day I was born
We never settled, went from town to town
When you're not welcome you don't hang around
The other children always laughed at me
"Give her a feather, she's a Cherokee"
Half-breed, that's all I ever heard
Half-breed, how I learned to hate the word
Half-breed, she's no good they warned
Both sides were against me since the day I was born
We weren't accepted and I felt ashamed
Nineteen I left them, tell me who's to blame
My life…
I still don't think I'd put it on anything close to the same level.

Not really
Negro is the root of the word negroid. The n word is an entirely different word altogether.

Doesn't matter. He is a liberal schmuck and he will get a pass. If you switched his name with Tucker Carlson, a job and career would be down the drain quickly. And yeah...it was context...but still.

I didn't say it should be. I just relayed how I've heard it used in a negative context.

And that would be wrong.
It's time we started defending context again.
