Now all the AP people will need to deal with 6 years of construction and single lane traffic.

Good luck.

very bad, i will change my route to work when they start.

This for me as well. I have 100% confidence it will be an epic cluster frick for many years. And when its all finished, traffic will still suck.

Hey, at least someone is doing some road widening in SO. Our criminal parish president refuses to do anything to ease traffic all while rubber stamping any development so long as they throw some cash at him. I leave for work at 6am so hopefully it won't affect me too much and I come home down airline. I think there will be a lot more traffic on airline in the afternoons, guess I'll just have to leave the office a little earlier.

At least Austin Bridge is out of the equation so it won't be a cluster like the last widening project

Is the project being ran by LADOTD, or a consulting firm?

I'm headed East in the morning and West in the afternoon, so it's usually not terrible for me.

Same here. Mornings won't be bad. But afternoons could suck. I'll just make sure i'm working earlier and home earlier.

I'm just frustrated b/c this Widening needs to go AT LEAST to Hwy30. if not to 22.

Same. There's no avoiding this for many AP'rs that don't have this option. The only option. Hwy30,I10, and Airline will all be jacked up. for years.

And the increased road rage and phone usage that results will increase the accidents.

Basically it'll be like I12 is but worse.

Whatever you do, don't take Hwy30. It's already too full.

It's absurd that we are neglecting the most obvious alternatives to I-10 or I-12.

- Airline Highway between the old MRB in Baton Rouge and Highway 30 in Gonzales needs to be at least 6 (and sometimes 8) lanes wide.

- Highway 30 should be a 4 lane divided highway between Baton Rouge and Gonzales.

- US 190 should be at least 4 lanes between Denham Springs and Hammond.
