Sam has an inability to break down some concepts to be more palatable for average or emotional people
the Hannibal Burress argument was an example of this

nooooope. that's a difference of over 5 million people
he releases about 2 videos a week, so it's like 2M difference
and that's one guy with an audience who has to seek him out and not just old people with the news on out of routine

I like sam harris btw...and enjoy him. this isn't so much to take away from podcasters and youtubers so much as my bewilderment at their understanding of the media landscape
my title is kind of click bait to get the discussion rolling, but what sane individual has like 200k views per video or whatever it is and wants to label guys who go in front of millions every night or every week irrelevant

yeah, cable did that...youtube competes for eyeballs but not as directly as cable did with network. as everyone has pointed out...i'm in no hurry to consume the content on youtube.
