I’ve recently gotten into photography and have some wildlife shots I’d like to try and sell.

Just by looking at several different galleries, coffee shops, etc.
I would laugh when I’d see someone asking $1000+ at a coffee shop for a print or some kind of artwork.
“No, I don’t want your painting of oyster shells for $1200”.
I would only print what I knew people would want, shots of New Orleans, etc

You gotta think about it, wildlife photography is awesome and all, but how many people do you know have large photography prints of wildlife in their house? It would be a hard sell.
Take pictures of things you know people will like to display in their houses, use that money to get better equipment for wildlife shots. I know those 400mm+ lenses can get expensive.

I collect LSU memorabilia. The main thing is pennants from the bowl games they’ve played in. I’ve got 36 of the 52 game pennants. I’m down to the ones that are really rare or the games that didn’t have a pennant at all.

A little different than most of the thread, but I like to collect and restore old hand tools.
Our home is 120ish years old, when my grandpa passed away he left 100s of 100+ year old wrenches, hammers, saws, screwdrivers, clamps, etc that I got passed down. I try to use them as much as possible for any home repairs or renos we do. Not sure why but I feel very relaxed and connected to the past using tools of the time even if it takes a good bit longer. Over the past 10 or so years I’ve stripped, repaired and powder coated a good bit of them one by one. There are some I keep just from a sentimental standpoint, but most I try to use and work with as much as I can.

I use to have a massive vintage LSU collection (hence, my screen name). I sold it a few years ago for about $20K. I had some VERY rare items such as Maravich’s signed autobiography, several bowl watches, including the ‘59 Sugar Bowl. I had 1000’s of pieces

I also use to collect vintage toys. It was a short lived hobby because I realized it was a never ending collection, plus I got into collecting LSU, so I sold my collection of toys.
Both toy collecting and my LSU collection started because of my main hobby, hitting garage sales. That is still my main hobby.

I too share the same interest. My grandfather was a carpenter/furniture maker. I have his old brace and bit drill, some wood chisels and mallets, all are over 100 years old. Kind of makes me think he is still around whenever I use them. I'll pass them on to my kids one day.

Yes, a guy in Zachary (I believe) got it. He tried to sell it a few years ago, asking some ungodly number. It was in poor condition.
I guess he still has it. It’s been 5+ years
