Common things I am noticing are a lot of eastern Euros (Slavs and Nordics mainly) and a lot of cold weather locales.

IIRC, Iceland is the country where they can do an ancestry search to see how closely they are related (insular country, small population).
I guess people want to test drive outside the family before figuring out if they like them.
