Toddler missing in New Orleans; cops and family have no idea where she is....

The New Orleans Police Department is asking for help locating an infant reported missing.
In May 2021, police say the Washoe County Family Court issued an order to a family member of Eriel Lynette Mack-Mariscal who had petitioned the court for guardianship of the child in 2018 to file the required paperwork for guardianship.
This paperwork has not been completed since the family member – a resident of New Orleans – obtained physical guardianship of the infant.
quote:
Through investigation, the family member who obtained custody of the infant – as well as other biological family members interviewed – claims to have no knowledge of the location of the missing child.

You can see the full article at the link, but it's every bit as infuriating and vague as the description.

The family knows where she is. There was a situation that happened like this not too long ago somewhere in Louisiana, and if I remember correctly, the father murdered her and disposed of her body.

They could start by following the Who What When Where Why tenants of Journalism and tell us Where the frick Washoe County is located.
Once that is completed, they could then start figuring out some basic tenants of grammar, like sentence structure.

Authorities are searching for a 3-year-old girl whose relatives allegedly told authorities they don't know where she is, the New Orleans Police Department said Monday.
In 2018, the Washoe County Family Court in Reno, Nev., granted guardianship of Erel Lynette Mack-Mariscala (to a) family member who lived in New Orleans, authorities said. The family member was directed to file guardianship paperwork in Louisiana.
However, the family member never completed the necessary paperwork and did not respond to court officials when asked again to do so earlier this year.

So in November, Washoe County court officials hired a private investigator to look into the matter.
"The family member who obtained custody of the infant, as well as other biological family members interviewed, claim to have no knowledge of the location of the missing juvenile," New Orleans police said in a statement released Monday.

The last reported contact with Eriel was in May 2020, New Orleans polcie said. But the person who last saw her has since died, according to authorities.
It's not clear where Eriel was thought to be living in New Orleans. But on Dec. 9, a missing person report for the girl was filed with the department's 4th District, which covers Algiers, New Orleans police said.
No other information was immediately available Monday about Eriel, her local relatives or the family court case in Reno.

Someone in the family knows. They probably didn't turn in the paperwork because they thought it would mask the chain of custody.
This is the kind of shite cops have to deal with....I feel bad for them.

That was in BR right on O’Neill I believe. That poor girl is almost certainly dead. How anyone can go along with the coverup of a babies murder I’ll never know.

Same as the baby Joe saga in Nashville/Clarksville, someone knows. Garbage parents in that case.

Similar story in Honolulu the other day, foster parents of a 6 year old report they woke up and their sweet daughter was missing, escaped overnight, she sleep walks a lot, darn it.
Month later they are charged, they had continuously tortured her, starved her, locked her in a dog cage so she wouldn’t get food from kitchen at night since she was starving, and killed her a month earlier.
fricking awful

We had a similar situation in Madison County, MS a few years ago. Father found out toddler daughter wasn't his and all of a sudden toddler turned up missing. They still havent found that baby girl.
Mother was genuinely hysterical and the "father" went about his business like nothing had happened.
LINK /
Its been 7 years!
Myra and her sister were playing outside when she left to go shopping. The mother told them to go inside where her husband, Gregory Lewis, was taking care of their 1-month-old baby.
The husband told reporters he looked for Myra on an ATV and tried to track her with the family dogs, which were not trained to track people. Later, police K-9s were brought in, and they were unable to locate Myra.
The search for Myra began at least four or five hours after the toddler went missing. Officers from several agencies combed the property surrounding the family's home and a pond across the street.
A two year old doesnt get that far in 4 hours.

Allegedly told? Who's "alleging" they said that? NOLA likes to toss that word into the weirdest places in a story.

Oof. That just hurts to read.
And that Sheriff sounds like an idiot. People talk up living in the sticks here, or in affluent suburbs, but at least if my kid goes missing I don't have to rely on Roscoe and Cletus the 4x4 enthusiasts to find her.

If you randomly throw in a few big words, 90% of the public will see you as a person of intelligence.
“If you posthumously have one bucket that allegedly contains 2 gallons of syrup and another bucket that allegedly contains 7 gallons of Brawndo, how many buckets do you presumably have?”

Was this Nevaeh Allen or was there another with dad and closer to O’Neil? I thought Nevaeh was closer to Broadmore and that the mom actually did it, and the step-dad disposed of her body and part of the “missing” cover up - that he was napping and door open when other kids came home from school.

That’s the girl I was talking about. I may have had the location wrong.

As sad as these situations are, the full stories can be even sadder.

Occam’s Razor usually hangs around these stories. The family knows.

Something similar happened around Homer, La. A toddler disappeared with out a trace. I originally heard mom and bf were on drugs and ran him over. Then they disposed of his body so they wouldn't get in trouble.
