I never said had a hardon for anyone.
You brought up the pinto beans and insurrection rhetoric.

I certainly don’t have a hardon for any of these characters. But you skipped over the fact that not everyone bows down to supposed heroes.

What was that South Park episode, something about people who annoy you?

On topic, Lee was an interesting man. Was certainly conflicted about secession and joined his state over the country he agreed to defend earlier. Grant gets the "butcher" label but Lee was just as bad and didn't have the manpower to back it up.
Early in the war he benefited from sympathetic or incompetent Union leaders. The charge at Gettysburg was dumb. He could have withdrawn to a better field of his own choosing. After that, the continuation of the war was downright idiotic and only extended the inevitable and cost more lives.
He also could have done more to bring peace after the war and end the ridiculous lost cause stuff. Although a lot of that happened after he died, maybe say a little more in writing about getting back into the U.S.

I think he should be recognized as a great military mind. But make no mistake, lost cause guys, he didn't give a shite about any state but Virginia. Several times he could have diverted resources and manpower to other areas, but waited until it was too late

They certainly thought they were, others disagreed. But that argument was settled 161 years ago. So get the frick over it. Most of the guys who fought on the losing side did, why can't you?
