Thank you to all who served.

All gave some, some gave all.

Yes. Thanks to all. The government abused many of our Southern men and forced them to fight. Nothing but respect for all the Vietnam Vets.

I won’t stand for this interruption of Women’s History Month.

My uncle served on the south VN army. Not sure how he made it out alive. But he'll be remembered most for getting all his families out of VN after the war. I need to visit him and thank him again before it's too late.

BTW, here's a video of a US vet meeting the daughter of a soldier he killed in combat. Just a reminder of messed up things were. Kind of glad the soldier and the woman had some kind of closure.

Is today actually a state or federal holiday?

No. Not a holiday.
A day of remembrance.

The last remaining troops withdrew from Vietnam on March 29, 1973

Makes war seem so stupid and pointless when you watch that.

My dad was a Vietnam Veteran - served as a Corpsman attached to the Marines. He was able to come home...with a purple heart....and to live with his physical and mental injuries until the age of 61. He never talked about it, until the end, when he was on hospice, he answered a few questions and chatted a bit. I miss him tremendously and wish he could have seen his grandchildren grow up.

Anyone who wasn't privileged enough to take five student deferments and then fake asthma when he couldn't keep the initial scam going.

we have an annual get together of former POWs and families, trying to get everyone a fini flight, just had it last week at JBSA-Randolph and that's exactly what I got him, it's an incredible, humbling experience, and as is inevitable, the numbers are beginning to dwindle
