Toby is a really good songwriter and he was inducted in a songwriters hall of fame last year.

He is a better talent than Brooks.

I was asking about his first record deal.

Toby had all the goods and no one would sign him. He spelled it out in an interview. I wish I could find the interview.

Me personally, I like Travis Tritt a little bit better. I didn’t connect with him as much in the 80s as I do now. I saw him (Travis) last year and would pay big money to see him again. He really is a voice of our generation.

Taylor Swift probably likes and respects Toby Keith as an artist and helping her get her big break.

Besides that both might as well be oceans apart when it comes to political beliefs.

I can see Taylor Swift commenting on some of his music like Natalie Maines did and it would break out in a feud.

I like Travis Tritt and my mother does as well.

He and Chris Stapleton are very similar in voice.

But I like Merle Haggard better than the rest as he was the perfect voice, songwriter, multiple instrument player and music for the genre.

Back I in the day I was a Clint Black fan, but Toby just kept pumping solid hits out. Clint was just left in the wings.

Toby was solid and hit maker. I just connected with Travis better.

I love Travis Tritt, but he can’t hold Stapleton’s jock when it comes to singing

To each his own. . Not gonna debate taste.

Travis was low key when he grew up. Later in life, his music really connected. Deep down. He didn’t sing about big dawgs or some solo cups. He sang about country clubs and Modern day Bonnie and Clyde. He connected to my soul.

I loved Travis And Toby different.

I don't know any of his songs post 9/11 that are bad.

His novelty songs like red solo cup and trailerhood were hilarious and not to be taken seriously.

He can write funny songs, serious songs and love songs.

Toby was solid!

He will be missed!

Individuals won’t be missed. But the country music industry will miss Toby crazily. Toby loved country music like no one else.

A guy I work with trained Toby Keith in the oilfield. That's all I got.

Travis tritts vocals are incredible. I didn’t realize how good he was until the last 10 years or so. Guess I was too young to pay attention to it before. But the guy can belt out anything. I think his look limited his career.

He’s a great singer, I was just saying vocally he’s not Stapleton’s equal

And as far as bad TK songs, Who’s your daddy is near the top of my list

Should’ve been a cowboy, who’s that man, you ain’t much fun are the TK I prefer to remember

Saw Cody Canada play this year and he said Toby Keith was the first person to ask Cody to open for him and gave him pretty high praises. Made it sound like Toby really helped kick start his career.

He sounds like he was a good dude, notwithstanding my feelings on his later music.

To be fair I’m not really a fan of modern country music so once he and others started going more pop I lost interest
