Look up any reputable review for the AP line of irons, and you will find that they are not going to fly as far as some other comparable irons. For a 14 handicap this could be useful information.
Other than the distance issue, how is the feel? Do you think it is a loss of distance on all shots or just off center hits?

Exactly. You can't help it.

Why not?

You can afford a Mathews

I switched from Mizuno MP-33's to Titleist AP2's and I love them. Gained a full club in distance. Both irons were the exact same specs, shafts, weighting, etc.

It would look neat and have top fit/finish and be equipped with a behind the times cam system.

are you the TaylorMade rep?
Posted on 8/25/15 at 2:54 pm to mikeytig
Far from it. I just think there are other viable options than arguably the most recognizable logo in golf.

Titleist makes very very good clubs. There really isn't a firearm manufacturing equivalent to Titleist.
Their products are top notch. Their customer service is excellent. And their products are very valuable over the lifespan of the model.
I believe it's already been mentioned but Callaway and Taylormade jack the lofts on their irons, big time.
That being said, play whatever feels best to you.

Is Taylormade, by far. At least in 'merica.
Although sales are tanking at the moment.

No. That's silly. They're all expensive and perform well. There's nothing "wrong" with any of them. It all comes down to personal preference.
To the OP: If you like the clubs, buy them.

Meh...I've never seen a "I'd rather be driving a Taylormade" sticker.

That's great to hear since I would also be switching from Mizuno to Titleist. I would be fine with getting the same distance as my current clubs.

JMO, but the easiest way I have ever gained useful distance, and I've had too many sets of irons to remember over the last 20 years, is finding the right shaft for your swing profile and head speed. I tend to gravitate toward tweener flexes. Your typical S-300 was never right, and R-300s seems noodly. Rifle 6.0 was way too stiff, and 5.5s were just not right for some reason. I played a round with a friend's set shafted with KBS Tour 90s, and the ball never came off an iron like that for me before. I then searched irons sets with those shafts and ended up with my current Adams. That stopped me from iron shopping. Now, am I saying those are right for you? No. Just saying, searching for the right head is fine and all, but if they are not shafted right, for you, they are not going to do you a whole lot of good.

That's some good advice that could have been offered earlier in the thread. Kudos on the troll.

Have Taylor Made woods and Ping Zing 2 irons... best of both worlds...of course I haven't used them for the last 9 years...
