What they should have done was put the ship in reverse and hit it head on. It would have slowed enough to where the damage would have sunk a few compartments but not the entire ship.

Like wafer said, this wasn't some shite pleasure craft

How much time did they have after first seeing the iceberg until impact?

About a minute... and it took 30ish seconds to do anything as far as the rudder and screws were concerned back then, not counting reaction time.

I'm no Titanic historian, but if I had to guess, that would be the menu from April 14.

Incredible. There's Smith and he's standing there and he's got the iceberg warning in his fricking hand, excuse me, his hand, and he's ordering more speed.

Ballard was a Naval Intelligence operative and his archaeology endeavors, while legit, were also cover for undersea espionage against the Soviet Union.

Any idea of distance/time it would take to slow from cruising speed to a complete stop?

What's funny is it's actually the Olympic that's underwater. JP Morgan sank the Olympic on purpose because it was cheaper to get insurance than to repair it.

They just redid the ship to make it look like the Titanic. That's why there is "YMP_C" on the side of the ship that sank.

The closest ship near the actual site was full of lifevest and blankets but never showed up. And people who defied the Federal Bank were also on that ship. Crazy how the friends of Morgan cancelled their tickets the week leading up to it.
