How much do you guys typically tip the valet? There seems to be varying opinions in the group. What say ye OT?

Subtle brag about car ownership.

Congratulations, you're cool.

$5 for true valet. In Atlanta, where I'm occasionally forced to valet my car 15 feet from the entrance where there is a full, largely empty parking lot on a Tuesday, maybe just a couple bucks.

Typically depends on what type of venue I'm at and what my cash situation is, but usually $5 is a pretty good standard.

Looks like I am going to have to up my game. I have stuck to $2 or $3 exit only.

Would you guys think it makes a difference if they have to go far to get the car versus walk a few steps? L'Auberge (where they have to run stairs and a parking garage) versus Ruth's Chris (car is 30 feet away) comes to mind.

I'm of the $5 opinion, wife says 10. Little steep for a hotel IMO.
