Was diagnosed with an ear infection on Saturday, first one in my life. Left ear is clogged and started on antibiotics. Since the ear is clogged, the ringing has been quite noticeable. Hoping it clears up soon and the ringing goes away.

Same story for me. It hasn't stopped, but is intermittent. Sometimes it goes away. It is really annoying when you are trying to fall asleep and it is all you hear. Good luck!

It started over a week ago right after I completed my run in my neighborhood.

Another reason why I don't run or jog.

After the hearing test they said I'm not picking up on high frequency sounds. Low frequency (bass sounds) is ok.

Sounds like Cerwin-Vega Disease.

I've gotten use to it for the most part. I obviously notice when it gets louder or if I'm reminded of it. Thanks by the way.

Doesn't it lead to a high rate of suicide? Seems like I read that somewhere.

For me, Clash concert in 1979 started it. Years of industrial sales in heavy fabrication environment with no ear protection coupled with maxing out the volume on the MP-3 player have sealed the deal. I have no idea what silence sounds like.

Yeah, for severe cases.

Lost the hearing in both ears in 2013. Auto-immune inner-ear disease. I have had tinnitus in both ears since. The volume and tone changes constantly. Audiologist tried steroid injections through the eardrum and orally. Nothing has helped. You learn to ignore it. Wish I knew of something to help, pal.

The Sound of Silence is quite possibly one of the greatest lyrical masterpieces of all time. Got me through a dark spot.

I have it, all those concerts, Nascar races and working around production machinery in my youth took its toll. As far as I know there is no real cure, I've just learned to grin and bear it. It definitely sucks though

I've had it since I was a teen probably. It comes and goes in intensity. I've never been to a doc about it because it never really gave me all that much trouble. You just kinda learn to live with it.

It's kinda like "floaters" in your eyes (little dots that move around). They are annoying, but you learn to ignore them.

I understand this might not be possible for severe cases, though.

Have it …been over 15 years ..read that is often goes away when you get in your 60s…
Well not for me…stress…excessive caffeine or alcohol appears to kick it up a notch for me…

I have tried a few of the snake oil stuff…no good for me…

And as op said usually can ignore it unless reminded of it like in a thread …..

Hope it goes away for you …I know some people with it so bad they have to sleep with noise canceling earphones…

I’ve got it. It’s from 20 years in the Air Force working in loud environments. It’s getting worse. It’s causing me migraines. Whisky and weed help.

Had it almost 20 years. Damage due to loud music. It’s likely not going away. Just get used to it. Wait until the 1st time it changes pitch on you, scares the shite out of you

It's your back. Do core exercises and hamstring. Also focus on your psoas.
