The only useful thing to come out of all of this is I finally understand why all of the Missouri posters on TD are so shitty

There is a black activist named Jonathan Butler who wrote a movie called "The Cuckold" about black dudes obviously doing whatever to married white ladies. I can't figure out if it is the same guy though. I wouldn't be surprised since his family is worth so much

I'm very sympathetic to the idea that indifference to racial epithets, swastikas and the like should be viewed as passive acceptance but these students and professors are disgusting for their lack of basic respect for other people's right to simply exist in near the same space.

I hope they do go after this Melissa Click woman and the rest of the students who were part of bullying the asian student and other media member. It is ironic as hell that they believe they are appropriately advocating for the rights of minorities while trying to bully and manhandle single members of the press with superior numbers.

No, just no. Indifference is indifference, not endorsement. Indifference is how adults get through life. Most of us are too busy or jaded to give a shite about other people's opinions. So if I hear someone being racist and I don't immediately attack them, that doesn't make me racist, it makes me more preoccupied with picking up my kid from school than trying to change someone else's opinion.

and that gal was asking for people to give her money for an education

fricking pathetic. So many gofundme accounts of just bullshite, and its a damn shame that there are genuine people in need on there. Guess she's never heard of student loans or A frickING JOB.

ETA: Its AMAZING how many minority scholarships there are out there, and its incredible that she needs to ask people for money. There are TONS of avenues for her to get money. She probably just wants spending money for shite she doesn't need. I can't look at the gofundme, but I hope she doesnt have a cent.

Agreed.

It is one thing to say that ignoring an elderly woman getting the shite beat out of her is condoning such behavior, but ignoring racist, ignorant remarks doesn't make one racist. It is just words, no matter how hateful it may be.

she has literally read 1 book, wrote a report on it, and thats what shes been paid for.

shes going to write a report on 50shades next, lol

The truth will come out, and i bet these grad students, who were going to lose a lot, had a leader, some Professor, who got this whole thing going.

He got this Butler, to play the race angle for needed leverage, then decided to find the dumbest football player, J'mon Moore to get the players to back him, and Bam.

President and Chancellor gone, Grad asst's get their perks back, planned parent hood access back, and Players left with their peters in their hands.

Check out the latest Mizzou statement re this event from David Kurpius, Dean of the School of Journalism. By the way, David taught at LSU for many years and is a former neighbor- great guy.

LINK

quote:

The Missouri School of Journalism is proud of photojournalism senior Tim Tai for how he handled himself during a protest on Carnahan Quad on the University of Missouri campus. University of Missouri System President Tim Wolfe and University of Missouri-Columbia Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin both resigned on Nov. 9 after complaints and protests of their leadership. Tai was covering the event as a freelancer for ESPN when protesters blocked his access through physical and verbal intimidation. The news media have First Amendment rights to cover public events. Tai handled himself professionally and with poise. Also, for clarification, Assistant Professor Melissa Click, featured in several videos confronting journalists, is not a faculty member in the Missouri School of Journalism. She is a member of the MU Department of Communication in the College of Arts and Science. In that capacity she holds a courtesy appointment with the School of Journalism. Journalism School faculty members are taking immediate action to review that appointment. The events of Nov. 9 have raised numerous issues regarding the boundaries of the First Amendment. Although the attention on journalists has shifted the focus from the news of the day, it provides an opportunity to educate students and citizens about the role of a free press.

What Bull Connor did in Birmingham back in the 60's was dead wrong and a despicable act. However in this case I wish we could bring Bull and the boys in to teach that bunch a life lesson.

The Bull Connors in this case are Click and Jenna. Hateful, racist, and violent--check, check, and check.

WTF do you do as a fricking communications "professor"? Overall, that has to be the biggest joke of a major out there, every comm major I know goes out and gets drunk every single night of the week, and for chicks they just take that major so that can find a husband to latch onto in college. Business majors need math, I'm a Ag/Science major so I have math and science, all these guys need to do is write fricking essays. Such hard work.

Best quote so far:

quote:

"One of the purposes of college is to articulate stupid arguments in stupid ways and then learn, through interactions with fellow students and professors, exactly how stupid they are," Daniel W. Drezner, a professor at Tufts University, writes about similar protests at Yale.

J'mon Moore

This is without a doubt the worst thing to happen to the Missouri program ever

Kid is awful

Talks shite to fans

Complains about not getting the ball more while dropping everything

The lead for this entire event for the football team

I would settle for 15 years of baggett to never have Moore come to mizzou
