re: Time going by faster as you age.
Each passing year is a smaller fraction of your entire life so it seems to go faster. If you're 4 years old, just one year is .25 of your entire life so it seems to take longer.

I used to think about this a lot. I’ve decided that time passes by faster as you age because you have lived more days/years than ever before. When you’re 25 a year holds much less significance in your perception of time than when you are say only 4 years old and a year represents 25% of your conscious experiences, making it seem like an eternity
Seems we had the same thought, I didn't read the thread before posting

You're right and that's what I've been looking into recently. Time is also probably going by faster for me though because I'm single with no kids so I don't have those milestones to slow down time that come with raising a child. Being single is fun but the days start running together when you have the same life you did 15 years ago

I’m 71 and my wife says I act like a 4-year-old.

Proof: She says we’ll screw tonight. And now this afternoon seems like forever.

It's the internet on our phones that we sink into during idle time that "eats" up time perception

re: Time going by faster as you age.
When you were six, 365 days, one year, was, more or less, 1/6 of your age. When you’re seventy, the same 365 days, one year is basically 1/70 of your life.

And also, like water swirling down the flushed toilet, when you’re six, you’re on the outer rim moving slow round and round; Seventy is circling the bowl real, real fast and about to go down the drain.

You're getting into the short rows, baw.

I've noticed it more recently. It's a feeling that goes back to early human times. I heard Dan Carlin mention it in relation to the writings about either an ancient Chinese ruler or one of the Khans.
