I don't know how serious you actually are, but this particular shutdown didn't come from our government. The chinese flipped the switch themselves in response to our govt having no real direction in regards to how the shutdown would actually play out.

Communist China shut it down to get a bunch of crying from tiktokers. The US law focused on banning all downloading of the app and updating of the app. It absolutely did not have any confusing language about affecting hosts and servers of just the actual TikTok service. Until China made the decision most non-tiktokers knew existing apps would still be able to access it. Getting your info about tiktok on tiktok is getting biased info.
China did this because after getting so much data on its users they know how gullible they are. It was propaganda by communist China, and you have bought it and championed communist China as your free speech savior.
The US ban on the app is still in place for app stores, websites, and hosting sites (for the app). Trump cannot push back the application ban if there is no clear path to a qualified divestiture, no significant progress towards divestiture, and no legally binding agreements facilitating divestiture. It would have to be put together quickly to be done by tomorrow, or if Trump pushes ban back he will be pulling an Obama and Biden move which should be struck down.
Trump also cannot change the designation of bytedance/tiktok without divestiture as the law explicitly designated tiktok which had until today for divestiture to happen. President does have the power to designate additional applications controlled by foreign adversaries, but the President cannot legally change TikTok’s until it’s properly divested.

The whole blocking that started and then ended in less than a day was all China. They are playing these people. The divestiture has to happen for tiktok app to be downloaded and updated in the future.
