Not too valuable, unless it’s Bear Bryant, no Bama coach autograph is very valuable, even Little Nicky
Not necessarily…pack pulled autographed cards of little Nicky all run at least four digits pretty much. They don’t have many of them circulating thus the premium for them.

I’d say maybe you get $20 to $25 if lucky and in very good shape. I collect 1st editions and the DJ is everything unless it is an ancient book or book with art within it. If you got an appraisal, great, but if you get a good offer, sell it and buy another.

If the cars are plastic it is probably G scale. If the cars are metal oh, it is likely to be standard gauge. Standard gauge made before World War II is good stuff. Modern standard gauge is not as valuable but can still bring a decent price

Jewelry is not my specialty. Is it silver, white gold, or platinum?

That was purchased at a garage sale in London for $50, by a family from Baton Rouge. So, I’d say it’s doubled in price, $100 tops.

It is silver. The jeweler who looked at it told me the pearls were worth $1250 (many times more than I paid for them) based on their quality, but she said she could not put a value on the antiquity aspect of them because that isn’t her expertise.

I find jewelry quite a bit. The silver, I just stockpile and sell for scrap once I get enough (unless it’s a nice piece). Gold, I sell as I get it.

I have a demitasse tea set my father took back from Japan after WW2. It's stamped with "made in occupied Japan". Seems like a complete set in very good condition.

Agreed. The book market tricks people. If you’re doing research online, you can find websites and listings setting ridiculous prices for “rare” books and first editions, but if you dig more, looking at sold books on eBay, etc., and find real numbers, they rarely go for that much.
Selling books for claimed value is hard work and you may hold on to the book for a long time before you ever find a willing buyer. The actual market you will probably be selling quick in is not near as inflated as the listing prices you find in an initial google search or at a rare book store.

Agreed. I’ll buy cheap 1st edition classics all day long if they are reasonably priced, with the hope I can run across a dust jacket. I’ve to an Ayn Rand Atlas Shrugged 1st /1st and you can buy them under $100 on eBay all day, but DJ included and it jumps to $600 to over $1K if in good condition. Rare book dealers are an entirely diff level of expensive. The fun is in the hunt!
