It seems like a legit question to me. Is the ER going to really give him better care than a walk in for something like a tick bite?

Hiking in Colorado years ago and thought I heard it raining. After a few seconds I realized it wasn't water that was falling. It was little ticks. I ran out of there and miraculously only had one little one on my lower back.

I know you are a physician so I'll ask. You really would recommend going to the ER tonight for that? I'm not a doctor so obviously not an expert but from what I understand if you have Lyme if you treat it within a week or so it's a round of antibiotics and you're fine. It's when it's not diagnosed and treated that it stays with you and becomes dangerous.

Do not frick around with lyme disease, go to tgr dr now. I know two ppl who have gotten it and it has changed their lives big time. Good luck.

What's so bad about an Urgent Care seeing the same red rash? Like the previous poster asked, is the ER going to do more than the doc here?
I just paid the copay at the Urgent Care. I can always go to both. I'm not poor.

He should just go to a doctor. The stupidity of people who ask "should I go to the doctor" is astounding.
The proper answer is always "No. Stay home and get drunk. Nothing bad will happen."
Darwinism.

To be fair, he was asking which facility to go to, not if he should go or not.
I think all that studying might have you too high strung.

Go to the doctor.

Apparently you aren't doing well in med school if you can't comprehend the rather simple question of the OP.

Dude, he's asking which one to go to.

Good Lord

In fairness, Scruffy was a big Neneh Cherry fan so this really hits home for him.

I agreed, then remembered I've been to hurricane parties

Do you even know what a tick looks like? Maybe you just had a red bug (chigger).
Not trying to come off as a tough guy, but I've been bitten by hundreds of ticks growing up and never went to a doctor.
You'll be fine.

100% tick.
Fairly certain it isn't a lone star, deer, or dog tick though.
Edit - I've had plenty but never got the bullseye rash. Definitely have it now.

I've had hundreds of chigger bites. Never heard of one making a bullseye pattern.
