Put a lot of miles into this thing when I was a kid. My mother actually kept it in her attic and my 6 year old daughter was playing with it a few months back..

And that reminds me... Anyone else have the Crossman pellet gun that looked like an M-16?

hand grenade?

We'd spend all morning gathering them up into two piles on opposite ends of the woods. We'd then divide up into teams and have wars. We threw those mofo at each others heads as hard as we can. Worst one I took was right in the eye.

Exactly, we'd throw those at each other while wailing away at each other with our Crossman M-16 pellet guns. How we all made it to adulthood with both our eyes is a miracle.

After searching, bidding and losing on Ebay for the last 15 years, I finally have one. My father bought this for me on a business trip in 1981 when I was six years old.

Before we had the M-16 pellet guns, we all had these...

I remember being in 2nd grade and just about every boy in my class would bring his toy M-16 to school and we'd spend recess out on the playground having a huge war. No way in hell we could do that now though. Imagine the looks of horror on some people's faces seeing a bunch of crazed 8 yr old boys with little M-16's running around the school playground.
