Well add this story to the mix. And, with a photo of yet another model aircraft.
The second picture makes more sense than the 407 if this was a night flight. When I was offshore, the 407s didn't fly at night, that of course could have changed over the years or for this particular time.

I spoke with a friend who has close ties to the helicopter business and he told me it was a aw139. The helicopter forums are saying the same thing.
Still early...

I never flew in the aw139 but a bell 412. They look to be similar. They had a pilot and co-pilot. The 406 did not have a co-pilot.

seems like Cline owns a 139 but the Bahama Press photo is a Bell 206
doesn't make a lot of sense to me that if the guy owned a luxury bird like a 139 why would 7 people cram into a smaller ship like a 206?

Brings over a mechanic to look at the 139, he says "Sorry boss, needs a major overhaul," so they all fly black on a charter. Just a guess.

I agree and I'm not sure how much fuel you can put onboard with 7 people and belongings on a 206L series.
Also, with the 139 and for the reasons mentioned before, it is equipped with a Health, Usage and Monitoring System (HUMS) which is strongly encouraged by the manufacturer to be downloaded and analyzed after a days flying. This can be done with a laptop, but if you are not trained to read it, the data is useless. Possibly another reason the mech was onboard.

Bell Helicopter and Agusta were joint developers of the 139 in the early days. Some had the designation of AB139. Agusta (now Leonardo Helicopters)was building the 206 & 212 under license agreement. They know each other

Don’t go to the reddit thread about this. Lots of environmental leftist morons saying he deserved it since he was in the coal business
Lots of workers of his old holdings celebrating it as well, his companies weren’t very safety first and pushed production. Had several big accidents that killed people.

I don't want to rock the boat but they're is much more hand-wringing here over these sorority girls than when Aaliyah's plane crashed after shooting that video.

Who is Chris Cline? ETA: read the article. My grandmother and her family are from West Virginia. Still have no idea who this is.
Billionaire. Lives around here (Jupiter Fl) for at least part of the year. He’s been Involved with the hospital I work at a few times. Good guy to everyone here who worked with him despite having just insane frick you money. Dated Tiger’s ex wife for awhile.
So sad man. Those girls were just starting their lives.

That, plus it looks like Cline was in the process of pumping millions into the local economy.

That looks like two different boats between pic 1/2 and the last one.
Also is that some kind of submarine on the back deck???

Tough to be a coal magnate and a saint at the same time. Reddit is going overboard with it though

Not to hijack, but I was just reading an Atlantic article today about how the internet is divided into the woke and anti woke who hate each other with a passion, while in the real world people go on about their business and have a lot more in common than you'd think if you only went by online "discussions." I'd link the article but I can't find it any more.
