That is a Bell 206.
If this is the actual picture of the crash site . . . .
Then it is a Bell 206 . . .
Look at the tank on the underside for the EFS, and then look at the landing skids.
It definitely is not an AW 139.

Could you get Megan to list the locations, especially if international, of all current LSU Phi Mu students, to further improve this thread?
and with pics, of course, just for verification purposes

Based on their FB page, Phi Mu has stepped up its game since I was at LSU.

Search that tail number and it shows it’s owned by a WV company.
You are right about that. It is just that the picture of the crash site carried by the Bahama Press does not show an AW 139. I am pretty sure it is a Bell 206. Combine that with knowing that a local company charters out the Bell 206, and the hypothesis is that Cline chartered one to get a sick kid home.

I don’t think that is a pic of the actual crash site.

It may not be. But the Bahamas Press is carrying that photo with this caption:
"Scenes from that helicopter crash off Grand Cay today…seven died."
We are all just guessing at this point.

Don’t go to the reddit thread about this. Lots of environmental leftist morons saying he deserved it since he was in the coal business

I agree, I just think that’s the actual pic of the crash.
Maybe it is and the other article that’s saying they’ve confirmed the tail number is just speculating that they were flying in his own helo

Having lost my father, I wouldn’t wish that feeling on anyone. And I knew he was gonna go. I’m sure the parents of these kids wouldn’t wish anyone to know what they are experiencing today.

Does that Bell 206 even carry 7 people?

Has the plot thickened?

BP can tell you that on Thursday 4th July 2019, around 5:30pm police on Guana Cay, in tbe Abacos became aware of another shark bite incident, involving a 32-year-old male American guest to the island who was vacationing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The victim was an occupant on board a 41 ft. Bahama Craft along with two other Americans, snorkeling in waters off Nippers Beach, Guana Cay, when he was bitten by a shark.

He was transported to the Marsh Harbour Clinic and was treated by doctor for his injuries. At 8:55pm, he was transported via Emergency Flight to New Providence for further medical treatment.

I think the Long Ranger does. But I could be wrong.

This Advocate article says the mother of one of the girls was also on board. Two families lost two family members. Awful.

ETA: this story was updated and corrected. Looks like the mother of one of the girls WAS NOT on the plane as initially reported.
