I've been in a couple of situations where someone was in tremendous distress, but you've had to make sure you're okay to help them. It's frankly insane, your entire body just wants to go go go and not worry about a heated up area near leaked gas in a wrecked car or jump into a pool to grab a drowning person knowing full well they are in pure panic mode.

That field sure seems like a weird place to hunt hogs? Or anything at night?
I was picturing this as like a cave in the woods, as an old water well basically why would a 2nd and 3rd person go after them? Weird story over all. You wouldn’t just jump in unless you are an idiot right? I mean I’m assuming they had a rope or something?

quote:Agreed. You see it all over this site too “dogs are better than people. I’d take a bullet for my dog over a human. Etc etc”
Pet culture is to blame for this
It’s weird, and not normal. I feel awful for these people, but people have lost their damn minds regarding dogs these days

I’m not convinced they were hunting, so the dog story may be BS. May be some sort of drug trafficking thing or something.
ETA: dog was a bloodhound. Im not up to date on all the hog hunting practices but bloodhounds normally are not used for hogs right ?

One person jumps in for the dog-- sure, why not.
Second person jumps in-- heroic, but a slightly questionable decision.
Third person--straight foolishness.

Woman jumps in cistern to save dog, man jumps in cistern to save woman, other man jumps in to also save woman. Sounds legit.

Cook said it then seems that one of the hunters jumped into the cistern, which was even with the ground. The man was then trapped in the cistern, where the water level was about eight feet below the ground, according to Cook. The BCSO later learned that the water contained hydrogen sulfite gas.
Two other people from the hunting party, a man and a woman, then also jumped in the cistern, "possibly to rescue the first person," according to the BCSO. The fourth member of the party went to his truck to summon assistance and call 911.
Sounds sus, jumped or pushed?
