What?

But you already knew that when you raised this question.

Something about assuming here.

So, because of these idiots actions, all cops are bad? Is that your thought on this matter?

Funny, I know lots of people that don't like being grouped in with their worst. I guess it's okay when it's those you show disdain for though, right?

No one here is arguing that all police officers everywhere are bad people, or even people who do bad things while at work.

What people are saying is that there is a widespread problem within many law enforcement agencies and the profession as a whole of tolerating and even actively cultivating a culture that works to keep officers from being accountable for breaking the law and enforcing the law in racist ways.

There is a widespread culture in that profession that has rejected the idea of police as public servants and adopted the role of police as a "thin blue line" who must cover up for one another and deserve to break the law without consequences because the rest of us are supposedly incapable of understanding the risks they face. There are too many people who are contemptuous of the idea that police should be accountable to us, the people they serve.

Widespread? Where? Of course you have facts to back this up, right?

Again, widespread? I think all should be held accountable for their actions.

While we are holding the police accountable for their actions, shouldn't we hold those who commit crimes accountable for theirs? I have no issue at all with either scenario.

The problem isn't as "widespread" as you are alluding to. Life isn't fair and sometimes bad shite happens to people who don't deserve it.

Exactly. Nothing will ever convince certain people that there's a real problem with racist policing and police brutality because they see each thing that happens as one of ten thousand isolated incidents rather than a pattern that indicates anything larger.

The problem is that you cite a problem with systemic “racist policing” and yet offer no proof of it nor do you offer a solution. Which tells me you’re full of shite.

Sure do!

Consider the studies referenced here and here and here and here and here and here and here and... I could keep going with another dozen or so studies after you reject these out of hand without reading them.

Yes? No one is arguing otherwise. The fact that this even being asked points to the larger culture problem that people think that the only alternative to letting police do whatever they want is complete lawlessness.

Please, keep going. I read 7 articles, that's your definition of "widespread"? 2 from California, one from Indiana and one from Virginia. Man, that screams widespread.

"Racial disparities in search rates do not necessarily indicate bias. They could reflect differences in driving behavior, neighborhood crime rates and other factors."
From one of your articles. Go ahead and send more

Don't assume that I am going to do or not do anything. You don't know me and never will. You are crying about an issue that you want to be worse than it actually is because you want to be a victim. Just live your life and be happy. I'm sure an educated man as yourself doesn't have any real issues to worry about.

Another fallacy. Who has said police should not be held accountable? I know I didn't say that. I said all people should be held accountable. Either you agree with that or you have an agenda. It's that simple.

Go ahead and send me some more articles to read, I'm sure you will find many slanted to your opinion on this matter.

Edit: Oh no, Chucky downvoted me. What will I ever do?

So you have no facts to back up your claim, yet have no problem demanding facts from someone else. Got it.

Write it down, take a picture, I don't give a frick what you got or don't got.

I could easily give statistics but people like you don't seem to like facts when they don't go the way you want them to. Then you will start with the excuses and whataboutisms.

Spare me the fake outrage. You are weak and you always will be.

Oh, you want some facts that look at the nation as a whole? No problem! Here and here! Read Captain Joe Perez' discussion of police culture here.

The hypocrisy of you whining about "you don't know me" while attempting to state why I must care about this problem and the overall quality of my life is pretty thick here.

Cool. Given that this entire discussion is about police accountability and no one has argued that criminals should not be held accountable, I can only assume that you've come over to the side of those of us pushing for police reform?

Everyone.

What dumbass point are you trying to make?

The problem is, that phrase is the go to for every police defender.

I love reading these and have no problem whatsoever saying that there are some issues. I guess what we differ on is the "widespread" part. How many interactions that are good go unnoticed or unreported? Would you feel comfortable saying that it is way more than the bad?

Keep posting the articles, I will definitely read them. We're up to 10 now, right?

The only whiners here are the ones saying there is a "widespread" problem but I digress.

I am attempting to do nothing to you except saying to live your life and be happy. Didn't know that was such a bad thing, strange.

The only thing that needs to be done is to hold people accountable for their actions. It's really that simple.

Where have I defended the police here, chunky?
