Thr Voyager, Pioneer, and New Horizons probes could be retrieved in the future

Assuming humans survive and technology advances, the probes would be great time capsules from earlier days. If we can reach interstellar space in the future, should we bring them back to Earth?

The energy expense involved would be enormous, but then if we were in a position to seriously ask the question then maybe not. Let's cross that bridge when we come to it.

One argument against sending out interstellar missions right now is that we aren't really ready for it yet. It would take our fastest spacecraft something like 70,000 years to reach the nearest star if it was even going in the right direction. With the rate of advancement in technology and even propulusion we could launch something in the next decade that will pass it up and launch something in another decade that will pass that up.
ETA: I do believe that at some point in the future we will track them down and put them in a museum which will be a good thing.
