its the group affect, when no pretty girls are around they all look ok, add one pretty girl and the rest get exponentially uglier very quickly

No, it is because they live in a cold, dry and windy climate combined with not a lot of make-up.
Women that live in places like that do not age well in the face.
A lot of that in Colorado, for instance: From behind they look great because they are on average more active and athletic than what we see in the Southern women but when they turn around they look 53 in the face by the time they hit 28. It’s weird.
