I go 25 exactly, I get tailgated by SUVs at least weekly. I take great pleasure in pissing them off.

This is what scares me. Driving faster than the posted speed limit is not the same thing as driving distracted. Those people aren't looking at the road at all. That's freaking negligence.

Accidents can happen fast.

My kids play in the front yard, if they are in the front yard the other kids see them outside and migrate over. Then they spend the rest of the day going house to house and playing sports. I live by a stop sign, so for the most part people are slowing down for it at least.

In Louisiana, that just means you bought in a neighborhood where you're probably not going to get murdered, but you're definitely going to flood.

Is that the same, or different, than the posted speed limit?

Depends on the road. Some roads have fairly appropriate speed limits (Claycut). Some have speed limits that are arbitrarily low (Gardere, Bluebonnet near Nicholson). Some have speed limits that are far higher than traffic conditions ever allow for (Airline Highway). And some roads are in such bad shape due to potholes that driving the speed limit could cause undue damage to my vehicle (Government Street). I am going to take the efficient/safe speed regardless of the speed limit absent it being an area that is an obvious speed trap (Bonne Carre Spillway, Highway 30 in St. Gabriel, etc)

I think drinking and driving is ok based on the traffic on the road at the time. A lot of traffic i wont do it. But if i know there are zero cars driving on a road i will chug a liter of whiskey.

I take the law into my own hands like you do, sir.

The problem with alcohol is it slows your reaction time. There is a very good chance that you can drive safely above .08 depending on traffic conditions. It's all about assessing your risk to yourself and others.

So you disregard the law based on what you think is ok?

We all do every day. Often times unknowingly. The average american commits 3 felonies per day.

Have you ever ridden a bike on a sidewalk?

Have you ever ridden a bike without a seatbelt?

Have you ever ridden a bike without a legal driver's license and license plate?

If you did, those are all crimes.

Always double the speed limit driving through neighborhoods. Time is too important to waste it going 15-20 mph. These signs aren’t slowing me down, should watch your kids better
