If I lived in Alaska, I would spend my time in the great outdoors. In Florida, it's so hot you can't stand it most of the time. But was almost 90 today.

I always planned on being a stay at home dad, until my wife beat me to it. Im trying to figure out a way to enable both of us to be at home full time. Winning the powerball is the #1 plan of attack

I'd be cool with it, but I'd need to find a woman with a high enough income to make it possible.

That's the key right there.

We had about 6" of snow over the weekend. We usually don't get snow til after Halloween. Took this when it first started falling. Always get pix of the first snow of the year

I'd find stuff to do, but I don't have to work to feel successful.

I've been staying at home going on 12 years now. Wife makes 4x what I could earn so it doesn't make sense for me to go to work.

It was great staying at home with them because I know if they grow up to be frick ups then its my fault. No one else to blame but myself.

All the kids are in school now, so I will probably start working again sooner or later.

Being a stay at home parent, regardless of gender, is an extremely tough and time consuming job. My wife did it for quite some time and couldn't wait to get back to work. I did it for a handful of months and while I did enjoy spending time with my kids, it's never ending work. There's always an errand to run, something to clean, food to cook, homework to do, etc. I'm glad I was able to experience it but certainly not something I envy. I have nothing but the utmost respect for people who do.

I sold my business and did the stay at home for 2 years. It was good only in the sense that I spent a lot more time with my wife and kids. However, my wife works from home and we were around each other to much to be mid 40s. Felt like we were retired. I eventually started back to work as no amount of home projects or hobbies could replace the feeling of earning income in your prime working years.

I would absolutely love to be a SAHD. I'd make a hell of a SAHD too.

My wife even admits that I would be better at it than her.

My wife graduates from law school in December and already has a job lined up, but our son is almost two and by the time that she makes more money than me... well, he'll be in late elementary or middle school. No need for a stay at home parent when the kids are that old.
